Pramono Tracks Social Media Account To Show Off Jakarta Student Brawl
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded to the existence of social media accounts such as Instagram that showed off the brawls of high school, vocational, and STM students in Jakarta.
Pramono admitted that he would order the Communication, Information and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) to track down who the account manager is.
"If there is an account, I will ask the Head of the Service, Pak Budi, regarding the Kominfo, to track down and report the account," Pramono said in Tebet, South Jakarta, Thursday, September 25.
Pramono views that many students do brawls just to look dashing and spread on social media. Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government will track down students involved in brawls and take action against those social media account holders.
"Because of that, the goal is to create content, then create it. If there are children in a brawl, it's not all like us. So someone created it for content," said Pramono.
Previously, Deputy Chairperson of the Special Committee (Pansus) Ranperda for the Implementation of Education at the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD, Elva Farhi Qolbina, highlighted the existence of accounts used by students for brawl content.
For the most part, the account is accompanied by the name "Capptoen" which also regulates brawls. The account uploaded a number of videos showing students in uniform attacking each other.
"The Chaptoen account is very structured. It has branches in various areas of Jakarta. It even involves alumni," said Elva.
Elva revealed that the Special Committee also received reports from the OSIS forum that some of his colleagues were often involved in brawls. In the past week, said Elva, dozens of students were expelled from school for being involved in a brawl. This condition shows how serious the problem of student violence in Jakarta is.
About 30'40 percent of students at their school are the perpetrators of the brawl. There was even an upload of children in uniform carrying machetes and sickles, "explained Elva.
