Association Of Ojol Garda Indonesia Regrets Gibran Prefers The Ojol Meeting Of Aplikators

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Association of Online Motorcycle Taxi Drivers at the Indonesian Guard Raden Igun Wicaksono again spoke about the identity of a group of ojol who met with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Later, applicators such as Gojek and Grab admitted that the ojol group was registered by their partners.

Igun admitted that his party did not get complete information on what they were discussing at the meeting. Therefore, the contents of the gibran meeting with the ojol group cannot be absorbed transparently by all drivers.

"For the Guard, it doesn't matter whether they are genuine drivers or not. If the meeting with Gibran represents the interests of the corporate applicator, then the meeting should be questioned with Gibran. Obviously, the ojol people are in economic trouble and have to operate beyond normal limits to get sufficient money that can be brought home," said Igun in his statement, Wednesday, September 3.

To be sure, Igun emphasized that the parties in the meeting were not from associations or groups who had been fighting for the right and justice for ojol throughout Indonesia. Thus, Igun regretted Gibran's attitude in addressing this issue.

"If they are genuine drivers who have ojol accounts and envoys from application companies or represent corporate application companies, it is very unfortunate that Gibran prefers to accommodate the interests of corporate applicators rather than the Indonesian people who work as ojol who are struggling with rights and justice," explained Igun.

On the one hand, Igun invites the public to assess whether the meeting between Gibran and the ojol group represents the interests of online drivers or corporate applicators and Gibran himself.

Igun emphasized that his association will continue to focus on the main demand, namely the 10 percent application fee discount which has not yet been realized because he did not find an agreement with the applicator.

"Garda questioned Gibran's alignment, whether the Vice President is pro to the people or pro to businessmen or corporate applicators so that he prefers to absorb corporate aspirations, business aspirations over the aspirations of the Indonesian people, or is it that the government and power have been controlled by the interests of the corporate applicator ojol," he added.

It is known that the identity of the online motorcycle taxi driver who was present at the ojol representative meeting with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Vice Presidential Palace, was finally revealed.

Met in the Cipinang area, East Jakarta, Rahman Thohir admitted that he was one of eight ojol drivers who had the opportunity to have a dialogue with the vice president. In front of the media crew, Rahman explained that he was an ojol driver from Gojek.

"I joined Gojek from 2015, so I am a real driver. I received education and law degree at the University of August 17, 1945," Rahman told the media, Wednesday, September 3.

In addition, Rahman also assessed that there is injustice in the narrative that is developing on social media today. According to him, do not discredit ojol drivers just because they have the ability to speak well in public.

"The narrative circulating now seems as if we have no right to use intellectual words such as escalation or education. It should be noted that these ojol drivers are not only people who graduated from Elementary School (SD), Junior High School (SMP) or High School (SMA), but there are also many who are graduates of Strata 1 (S1) and Strata 2 (S2)," said Rachman.
