Mendikdasmen Ready To Restore School Supervisory Formation

JAKARTA - Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti said his party was ready to restore the formation of functional positions of school supervisors through the latest regulations from the Ministry of Education and Culture.

"Later there will be new regulations regarding school supervisors whose names have been changed to companions. Later we will return their names to supervisors," said the Minister of Education and Culture, Abdul Mu'ti, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 25.

The Minister of Education and Culture explained the results of his study regarding the main tasks and functions (tupoksi) of school supervisors concluded that the information on the functional position could not be replaced.

"We have reviewed the supervisory duties and responsibilities that cannot be replaced as a companion, so later we will return the supervisor as a profession," said the Minister of Education and Culture.

However, his party has not been able to convey the information in detail, so he asked the related parties to be patient and wait.

"How will it come out later, wait for the trial. This is just a public leak. Because once again this is all in order to restore the role of supervisors to jointly provide quality education services for all," said Mendikdasmen Abdul Mu'ti.

For information, the removal of the position of school supervisor was proposed by the Indonesian Teachers Association (IGI) to former Minister of Education and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim in 2019.

According to IGI, the abolition is considered to be a temporary solution to overcome the problem of teacher shortages.

The proposal was then followed up with the Regulation of the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Number 21 of 2024 concerning Teacher Functional Positions (JF).

The contents of the regulation consider the integration of school supervisory JF, JF, and JF to study in one teacher JF, so that the management of education and education personnel (PTK) for formal PAUD units, basic education, and secondary education, which are more efficient and effective.

In other words, the three JFs were removed because they were merged into JF Teachers.
