JAKARTA - In commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the public often participates in various activities and competitions to enliven it. However, there are several steps that can be taken to ensure that this celebration takes place in a lively and safe manner. PLN Main Distribution Unit Jakarta Raya provides some tips to enliven the Indonesian Independence Day in a safe and comfortable way:

People can shop for equipment and necessities to celebrate August 17 at the PLN Mobile application marketplace. With a minimum purchase of IDR 78,000, they will get additional power vouchers.

If the power of electricity at home is not sufficient to install ornamental lights, people can take advantage of discount promos to add electric power. Vouchers from shopping in the PLN Mobile marketplace can be used to increase electricity from 450 VA to 4400 VA, with a final power option of up to 5,500 VA at a cost of only Rp 170,845.

Prepaid electricity customers are advised to fill in sufficient electricity tokens so that the ornamental lights that are turned on stay on during the celebration.

Postpaid electricity customers are advised to pay electricity bills before the 20th so that convenience during the Independence Month is maintained.

People who plan a happy stage or installation of ornamental lights in the gate can choose to increase their power temporarily as needed. Registration can be done through the PLN Mobile application.

Taking electricity directly from an electric pole without the right equipment can be very dangerous. People shouldn't do it for safety.

To avoid the risk of a fire, the public is advised not to put up flags, billboards, tubers, or hot air balloons near the electricity grid that have the potential to cause dangerous friction or contact.

Lasiran, General Manager of PLN Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit, emphasized that PLN supports the commemoration of the Indonesian Independence Day by providing reliable and sufficient electricity. He also reminded the public not to take electricity from the power poles directly because it is dangerous.

"People please register with PLN for temporary electricity, instead of taking it directly from a very dangerous pole," said Lasir.

The electricity added discount promo is only valid until August 31, 2023 and the PLN Mobile application can be downloaded via the Playstore and App Store.
