JAKARTA - Kaspersky has re-launched a new security tool subscription package for smartphone users in Indonesia, by introducing various features that cover every contemporary consumer protection category.

Features presented include security, privacy, performance, and identity. The new product lines are divided into several packages, Kaspersky Standard, Kaspersky Plus, and Kaspersky Premium.

Kaspersky said this new security solution was to respond to challenges such as cyberattacks that often target cell phone users and their need for security.

It is claimed, the tool could surpass anti-virus. According to Kaspersky's Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Adrian Hia said last year, the company had blocked as many as 505,879,385 attacks from online sources globally by 2022.

Kaspersky's Anti-Virus Web also blocked 109,183,489 unique malicious objects, reflecting an increase of 69 percent compared to 2021.

"For the Southeast Asia region, the number of mobile malware experiments prevented by Kaspersky is 207,506, where Indonesia accounts for 126,906. This places Indonesia in the regional number one in terms of mobile malware detection," Adrian said at the launch of a new product in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 25.

Adrian added that a total of 108 detections of mobile banking Trojans and nearly five million (4,931,367) phishing efforts of up to nearly 25 thousand (24,642) crypto phishing efforts have also targeted domestic users to have been successfully blocked by Kaspersky for 2022.

"At this point, we can see that cybercriminals are still working to develop malware functionality and its spread vectors, it is important for us to remain vigilant," said Adrian.

"Our monitoring shows that malware is increasingly spreading through legitimate channels such as official markets and advertisements in popular apps. This applies to malicious mobile banking fraud and malware applications," he added.

Actually, Adrian said, this is a positive sign that people are now aware of cyber threats but awareness alone is not enough, ideally it must be accompanied by action.

Cyberattack efforts will continue to develop in terms of technicality, targets, and execution. Recently, cases of alleged leakage of Indonesian user data and QR-based payment fraud have surfaced again.

Therefore, Kaspersky's new security solutions were launched with each providing protection for various types of devices on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.

In the Kaspersky Standard package, users will receive security functionality, including real-time protection against the latest digital threat and Safe Browsing & Anti-Phishing to provide protection from malicious websites, downloads, and extensions.

Then at Kaspersky Plus, users will have access to the unbounded VPN and Premium Password Manager. They also get a Data Leakage Inspection, which monitors the internet and the dark web, alerting users if their personal data has been compromised and providing recommendations on what to do next.

In addition, the package includes a password manager that can increase password protection by checking its security status and vulnerability to leakage.

Finally Kaspersky Premium, added all previous capabilities by including digital identity protection and premium technical support, with priority access to phone calls or chat services, remote installation assistance from experts, and personal PC health checks.

To provide comprehensive identity defense, users have access to Identity Protection Wallet, which stores sensitive data copies (such as passports or SIMs) in encrypted format to prevent identity theft and users can also access data safely on all devices they have.

All Kaspersky Premium subscribers will get a one-year Kaspersky Safe Kids free subscription as a bonus.
