JAKARTA - Kaspersky, a leading cybersecurity and digital privacy company, announced today the appointment of IT veteran Adrian Hia as the new Managing Director for Asia Pacific (APAC) and replaces Chris Connell.

Hia is ready to lead Kaspersky's efforts to expand market tracks, channel range, and new business growth in key areas of the region, especially in the fast-growing cybersecurity segment of the company.

With his broad knowledge at the IT pan-Asia market, his role also includes spearheading and managing sales, marketing, and strategies as well as execution of channels into the market in the region.

"Adrian brings his more than two decades of experience in international companies and local IT industries in Asia Pacific, where he has successfully developed a business and achieved extraordinary results. We believe that his deep knowledge of economic progress and developments in Asia-Pacific will help Kaspersky improve its business in the region, which is one of the most strategic important markets for the company," said Kirill Astrakhan, Corporate Business Executive Vice President at Kaspersky in a statement received on Wednesday, May 10.

Astrakhan added that in his new role, Adrian will help Kaspersky identify new business opportunities and accelerate B2B's business momentum by focusing on the enterprise segment.

Prior to joining Kaspersky, Hia was China Region's Senior Regional VP for ASEAN & Greater in Zscaler. Its deep experience in the IT industry also includes regional sales and channel tasks at VMWare, Oracle, and Sun Microsystems.

Hia also admitted that she is a frontline supporter of digital transformation and uses the power of new technology to enable business growth.

Hia earned a Bachelor's degree in Applied Science (Computer Technological University) from Nanyang Technological University. In this new position, Hia will be placed at Kaspersky's Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore.
