Chinese Authorities Impose Sanctions On Internet Media Platforms Spreading Pornography, Takhayul, And Prostitution

JAKARTA - A number of top internet media platforms in China, such as Baidu, Weibo, Douyu, and Douben were sanctioned by local authorities on charges of disseminating information that harms the public. Several media platforms during the first quarter of 2023 did not carry out their duties properly so that information disseminated was detrimental to the public, such as pornography, prostitution, prostitution, and gambling, said the Chinese Cyber Agency (CAC) in a statement in Beijing, Sunday 30 April. During the first three months CAC has socialized regulations on the 2,203 platform, suspending and updating 48 platforms. CAC also removed 55 apps and 12 mini programs, CAC was quoted as saying by local media.
