JAKARTA - Opera has just announced the launch of a new free Virtual Private Network (VPN) for iPhone users. With this expansion, the service is available on all operating systems (OS), including Mac, Windows, Linux, Android and now iOS.
"We have invested a lot of time and effort to develop this feature, and we are excited to bring this important tool to iOS users to protect their online security and privacy," VP Mobile said at Opera, J wayurgen Arnesen.
To access the Opera VPN, users do not need to create an account to use this feature and can be accessed by users for free.
In addition, Opera said it would not collect personal information or data related to the habit of browsing users on their internet or IP addresses.
In fact, this service does not require any additional extensions to use. Once the user activates the feature in the main menu, the Opera VPN traffic will be encrypted, and the IP address is private.
The app also offers a built-in ad blocking plus Apple Smart Tracking Prevention, which blocks third-party tracking cookies and cookies.
There is also Opera's Cryptojacking Protection, which protects users from hijacking their device's resources for crypto mining. Free VPN services will now complete the package, providing protection to users as they explore the internet.
Not only VPN services, but Opera Browser for iOS also added a New Direct Scores feature and score function on the browser homepage, so users can see the latest match scoreboard.
Opera's move is of course different from its competitor Google, which is also expanding its own VPN tool to desktop users on Macs and PCs, after launching on iOS and Android, as quoted by TechCrunch, Thursday, April 13.
