JAKARTA - Alibaba will reportedly follow the ChatGPT explosion, now looking for a company or business to test its Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot, Tongyi Qianwen.

The tech giant owned by billionaire Jack Ma confirmed that the chatbot was not intended for the general public such as ChatGPT or Bing Chat, but for business users.

Later, testers of Tongyi Qianwen can gain access to chatbots through Alibaba Cloud's official WeChat account. For those who want to try it, they can leave their phone number and email address on the official chatbot website.

Unfortunately, there has been no further leak regarding the chatbot's ability. Alibaba Cloud only uploaded a teaser last Friday on social media without mentioning details of the chatbot.

"Hallo, my name is Tongyi Qianwen, this is our first meeting, I welcome your feedback," he said.

But Alibaba is rumored to be hosting an event this week, most likely the company will introduce the bot to the public.

Alibaba is not the only Chinese company that created a ChatGPT competitor, Huawei Technologies is also included in the list that will soon introduce the natural language processing AI (NLP) model, Pangu.

Likewise with Baidu Inc who will introduce the Ernie Bot application which is currently only open for trials. This was quoted from IndiaTimes, Monday, April 10.
