JAKARTA - If you're tired of seeing the same show on Netflix, there's a way to access a secret catalog containing hundreds of hidden titles that are not visible on the main platform.

This alternative catalog can be accessed using codes related to certain genres, such as High Browse Horror, Irreverent TV Comedies, and 90-minute films.

There are two ways to access this secret collection. First, from desktop by typing 'netflix.com/browse/genre/' to URL and adding a unique ID code. Second, if you're using Netflix on TV, you can type the code into the'search' column. These codes are in the form of numbers that represent categories hidden in the Netflix library and connect with the content offered at the beginning of the company's establishment.

On the main site or app, Netflix uses an algorithm that customizes the experience of each customer's front page by gathering user interest and viewing history data.

However, Netflix made world news because of its controversial decision. The streaming site announced that it would limit the distribution of passwords this year, although previously this feature was used as a promotional tool. The total ban is expected to occur this month in the US.

The company shared the news in a letter to shareholders, noting that the 'wide division of accounts' had exceeded 100 million viewers.

However, those who share passwords will be able to transfer their profiles to a new paid account, so they can maintain their preferences.

This sharing restriction was made in response to Netflix's first customer loss in more than a decade - its customer base fell by 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2023. The well-known ad-free site also introduced a cheaper subscription rate with ads in November 2022, namely the 'Basic with Ads' option for 6.99 DOLLARs as (Rp135,000) er months, which differs from the standard account for 9.99 US dollars (Rp150 thousand). Iklan is 15 or 30 seconds long and played before and during the show.

Ahead of the recent ban on password sharing, this streaming service revealed plans for a paid sharing option. This option will be intended for users who want to use the same account as some people.

In this new rule, people who watch Netflix using other people's accounts must create their own login and pay for their own access.

To allow people to share accounts, 'pay sharing' will be added, which allows account usage by some but at a cost less than full subscriptions.

The Netflix account is equipped with five profiles, but only for use by the same family members.

"Each account is equipped with five profiles that family members can use," a Netflix spokesperson said, quoted by the Daily Mail.

A new option will be available if people want to share their Netflix account with friends and family who live elsewhere.
