JAKARTA - Women in web3 companies often face some unique challenges, ranging from lack of diversity in industry to gender bias.

A study conducted by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and the People of Crypto Lab revealed that as many as 13 percent of web3 startups included female founders, and only 3 percent of companies had women's special teams.

Meanwhile, the share of women who have a role in non-technical fields in web3 companies is also higher, which is around 27 percent. This is then a challenge for Juliana who works in technical fields as an IT Project Manager at Tokocrypto.

"One thing that became a challenge during his career at Tokocrypto was when he entered to create an NFT platform project. So it was true that at the beginning he was confused, what is this web3? Continue to create an NFT platform, so there are many questions in my mind. Then it becomes more and more exciting," said Juliana Soetjahja, IT Project Manager of Tokocrypto in the talk show "How Women Make the Leap into Web3" some time ago.

However, Juliana said that there are two important aspects, such as teamwork and the entertainment team (Tokocrypto) which can greatly support women's empowerment in the web3 industry.

Break the Stigma

As web3 continues to grow, stigma against women in the technology industry is changing. Founder and CEO of Back2our, Mutia Rachmi advises women who want to seriously explore the web3 world to change their mindset or mindset that makes themselves afraid to develop.

"We must first know our strength. If we are trapped in the stigma, that women are not suitable to enter the tech industry. If we can, maybe barriers will be easier to become part of this industry," explained Mutia.
