JAKARTA - WhatsApp will soon present a new feature for iOS users so that they can schedule group calls.

First reported by WABetainfo, the feature is called a new group calling schedule, where users can plan their previous team calls.

Currently, the feature is in beta testing and is available to users who have registered for Apple's TestFlight program.

Users who are part of this beta program can use a new feature on their iPhone by updating the iOS 23.0 version of WhatsApp.

In this beta version, users can set previous meeting topics by giving nicknames, reminding group participants to join meetings, and even eliminating the complexity of sharing call links with people after meetings begin.

After scheduling a group call, all group members will receive a notification to join the group call at the specified time, so that everyone who joins knows the purpose of the scheduled call.

The group's new calling schedule feature functions both on video or audio calls. Which type of call is made depending on which call button the user uses to open the context menu.

Scheduled calls is something people in the business world do more often, with this new feature WhatsApp can be a viable alternative to other group calling applications used in the workplace.

For the current Android version, the feature is also still in beta. And there is no indication of when WhatsApp will launch it globally. As quoted from PocketLint, Tuesday, February 28.

WhatsApp recently also released the latest app update for its iOS users version 23.3.77. Putting on some new features and fixes, including image-in-view modes for video calls, the ability to send documents with text and more.
