JAKARTA - Even though the global economy is currently at risk of stagflation, the digital economy sector is actually present as the spearhead in accelerating the national economic recovery.

Luat Sihombing, Head of the Business Matchmaking Team of the Directorate of Digital Economy, Ministry of Communication and Information in his remarks at the Glonce Unlocked 2023 event on Friday, February 24, revealed that Indonesia is the largest startup investment magnet in Southeast Asia throughout 2021. 42 percent of the total startup investment in Southeast Asia is intended for startups originating from Indonesia.

The high use of smartphones, especially in Indonesia, is also claimed to be the target market that will continue to be pursued by innovators and technology providers from within the country and also globally.

"Of course the government really hopes that Indonesia is not seen only as a market, but also brings enthusiasm to collaborate and synergize with digital industry players in Indonesia," he added.

For this reason, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has promised to continue to support the development of startups engaged in the digital industry in Indonesia, one of which is Glance, as the largest smart lock screen platform in Indonesia.

As one of the content providers on key screens such as games, news, and entertainment on various smartphone brands, Gence has a vision to continue to expand its services to more smartphones around the world.

On the other hand, not only being a platform for news and entertainment sharing, the Co-founder of InMobi Group and the President & COO Glance, Piyush Shah found an interesting fact where, Glance can also play a role as an educational platform in Indonesia.

Seeing Gance's daily active users who have reached 30 million per month, Gance has ambitions to continue to do more than it is today.
