Asteroids Blow Them Up In The Strait Of Inggirs, Creating Fireball That Is Very Bright

JAKARTA - An asteroid exploded above the British Strait after entering Earth's atmosphere in the early hours of Monday, February 13, creating a falling star and a burst of air.

Dubbed 2023 CX1, the asteroid can be seen across southern England, Wales, and northern France to South Paris. According to the International Meteor Organization, it measures as high as 3 feet.

The rock went beyond the point of view into the atmosphere about two miles off the coast of France at 3 a.m. local time, creating a fireball when it was destroyed into tiny pieces that landed at sea.

The European Space Agency (ESA) said the event was the seventh time an asteroid attack has been forecast, a sign of rapid progress in the detection capability of a global asteroid.

Sprincezky first imaged it on Sunday night, February 12, at 20:18 GMT, when it was less than 145,000 miles (233,000 km) from Earth and in lunar orbit.

2023 CX1 entered the atmosphere and traveled east through the Normandy coast, France along the British Strait. Due to atmospheric barriers, it caught fire as a bright meteor that can be seen from North France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK before entering the sea off the coast of France.

But if it falls to the populated French land, 2023 CX1 and its fragments could seriously injure someone.

Launching DailyMail, Tuesday, February 14, asteroids are seen as one of the most dangerous natural disasters the planet can experience, especially as there is currently no way to stop them.

The reason is that NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission has explored the feasibility to divert the asteroid's path by crashing a spacecraft into it.

The mission succeeded in changing the orbit of the asteroid Dimorphos, about 560 feet in diameter, when NASA's spacecraft hit it in September last year.
