JAKARTA Zilliqa is a blockchain platform that uses large-scale transaction processing technology to enable decentralization and smart contract applications. ZIL is a cryptocurrency used on Zilliqa platform as a means of payment for transactions within the platform.

Zilliqa was founded in 2017 and launched in 2019. The Zilliqa platform is designed to address the scalability problems faced by many blockchain platforms today.

According to a recent report, Ziliqa is developing a new business model that they believe will be a "win winter" in the crypto market. This business model is designed to develop a number of internal digital asset business lines that will generate their own venture capital loops.

A new entity called Roll1ng Thund3rz has been launched by Zilliqa Research, with the aim of leading blockchain-based gaming initiatives. Roll1ng Thund3rz is led by Valentin Cobelea, Zilliqa's head of gaming technology. Zilliqa plans to keep as many as 60 staff after the spin-out is complete.

Matt Dyer, Zilliqa's chief executive, stated that the company is changing and changing its strategy of entering the market after much introspection and reflection. Zilliqa's development has evolved over the years, as the old mechanism for capturing the overall crypto market cap is no longer successful in the recent decline in digital assets.

The launch of Roll1ng Thund3rz is the first important milestone, to be released at the end of March with Web3War, the first blockchain-based shooter who has been in the open beta version. The company plans to raise capital for the initial round.

The crypto game sector got attention in the fourth quarter of last year, and big players like Brevan Howard Digital supported crypto game startups. Zilliqa designed a different strategy from their previous strategy as ICO in 2018, which had nothing to do with games.

According to Dyer, the core of Layer-1's latest efforts to diversify its revenue stream comes from recruiting game executives. Cobelea has since built an internal team.

"When people ask, 'How do layer-1 make money? How do they benefit?" Dyer said. "That is a very good question... We answer it [through] a mechanism to create a sustainable business [which can] develop," said Matt Dyer, quoted from Blockworks.

Revenue that comes in from the equity flow of Roll1ng Thund3rz venture support is part of the plan. But the overall general idea is to focus on efforts and related partnerships, to continue to develop game affiliates - and additional ventures in the future.

"We feel that if we can start getting some use cases that show revenue returns that don't really exist in space... Naturally, it will start to attract attention to Zilliqa, in terms of what we do," Dyer said. "We all understand the crazy wheels of space, and it's starting to generate the income people are looking for - like going down the hill," added executive Zilliqa Matt Dyer.
