JAKARTA - Instagram seems to be working on a new feature that allows customers to pay subscriptions to get a blue badge.

How it works will probably look like a blue tick on Twitter. Where a new badge on Instagram will also be given to an account whose authenticity has been verified.

The Meta plan was first shared by a developer of the Alessandro Paluzzi app on Twitter, who said that Instagram was working on a subscription package on its platform.

"Instagram is working on a subscription package that includes a blue badge," Paluzzi wrote in a tweet posted on Thursday, February 2 via his personal account.

However, Paluzzi said that currently he only has a few small references to the development code for this new feature, and there are no more details than that.

"There is currently only a small reference code on this, nothing is visible, until I posted a screenshot that could confirm my assumption, consider it a mere rumor," he wrote in a follow-up tweet.

Paluzzi shared screenshots with TechCrunch showing the app code "IG_NME_PAID_BLUE_BADGE_IDV" for Instagram and "FB_NME_PAID_BLUE_BADGE_IDV" for Facebook.

According to TechCrunch records, FB and IG stands for Facebook and Instagram, which could mean that Meta is thinking of verifying users at a certain cost across the platform. IDV, is an acronymic code known for "identity verification".

Paluzzi is one of the application developers who has often found many new features that have not been released by social media platforms in the past. However, because there is no concrete evidence about this feature, Paluzzi has not confirmed the truth.
