JAKARTA - British postal company Royal Mail restarted some of its international export services, on Thursday, January 26 or two weeks after its operations were disrupted by what it called "virtual incidents".

Royal Mail will resume International Tracked and Signaled services, and International Signaled to all destinations for business account customers and customers who purchase online shipping costs starting January 26, the company said in an update posted on its website.

Packages, major letters and letter formats of this service will restart, which is part of London-listed International Distributions Services Plc.

"We have made further progress in exporting more and more items to an increasing number of international destinations. We are using alternative solutions and systems, which are not affected by recent cyber incidents," Royal Mail said.

The Royal Mail, one of the largest postal and parcel companies in the world, began moving a limited volume of export packages last week, following an announcement on January 11 that its international export services were severely disrupted by cyber incidents.

Previously the Royal Mail, teamed up with external experts, security authorities, and regulators to reduce the impact of cyberattack incidents that befell them.

They were reportedly attacked by Lockbit, a ransomware group that some cybersecurity experts say has members in Russia.

The British Royal Mail previously announced on Wednesday January 18 that it had begun moving export packages with limited volume while testing "operational solutions", following a cyber incident that seriously disrupted its international export services.
