JAKARTA - Google is again improving its user experience in the Messages app, with the company's latest report preparing to add user profile support capabilities.
In the screenshot uploaded by Reddit u/seeareeff users, the messaging application can be seen with a slightly redesigned account transfer according to the Material You theme.
In addition, user profiles are also added to Google Messages with Visibility controls, and settings for notifications where users can receive alerts when other people or unknown contacts join them.
Visibility control serves to select who can view the profile, with the option of a Public, Contact, or Only You. If setting privacy to the public, everyone can see the user's profile, including those that are responded to.
Although this option can be found by searching for Profile keywords in the Android Settings application, this feature cannot be used yet, as quoted from GSM Arena, Thursday, January 26.
Chances are, Google is testing this feature internally and plans to release it in the beta version of the Messages app later. And, once the feature is working, users can create their own profiles with photos, names, and email addresses.
There is also a Notification To Contact Update button, where users can receive notifications when a contact changes their profile. And the Notification for New Contacts option Found will send a notification to the user when a new contact is found.
Google Messages also gets a delivery indicator to more people. For sent messages, users will see a circle indicator. Also, the indicator is filled after the text is read.
Users will also see this new Google Messages delivery indicator on devices listed in the Google Messages beta program. No intention has been mentioned for the feature, especially Google Messages for its own profile feature, as it appears to be still under development.
