JAKARTA - Samsung is rumored to have expanded its independent repair program from only for mobile devices, now company-owned Personal Computer (PC) customers can also enjoy it. Including, five new Galaxy devices.

The program now features genuine parts for the Galaxy Book Pro 15-inch and the Galaxy Book Pro 360 PC 15-inch, as well as a series of Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra products.

Still cooperating with iFixit, the online repair community, owners of the Galaxy Book will have access to the original seven components to make their own repairs. This includes the front of the casing, back of the casing, screen, battery, touch panel, power button with a fingerprint reader, and rubber leg.

"The Self-Repair program has exceeded our expectations, and we heard one important message. People want more models. Company customers in particular let us know that they need solutions for PCs," said vice president of customer service at Samsung Electronics America, Mark Williams in a statement.

Customers who need this service, can access online guidelines provided on iFixit.com. With the presence of this new service, it will create stiff competition for Samsung and Apple, both of which have their device self-improvement programs.

People want to get more from their devices and need long-lasting products. Samsung is committed to offering treatment options that meet their needs," Williams said.

Similar to the Galaxy S20 and S21 series and the S7+ Tab, the owner of the Galaxy S22 series will also be able to replace the screen building, rear glass, and charging port, as quoted from Venture Beat, Wednesday, January 18.

The addition of the new models gives Samsung consumers additional options to maximize the use of their devices, and live more sustainably by extending the lifespan of their products.

Kit's self-improvement of the Galaxy Book Pro and S22 series is available for purchase starting today in the US, there is no further information on whether the company will also launch it for the Indonesian market.

The expansion of the Self-Repair program is part of Samsung's overall effort to provide convenient and easily accessible care, so that people can keep Samsung's mobile devices, PCs, consumer electronics and household appliances active.
