JAKARTA - Electric car manufacturer Tesla announced that drivers who are negligent in using Full Self-Driving (FSD) mode will be subject to different sanctions from before.

Launching Teslarati through a note provided, Tesla said drivers would now lose access to the company's Full Self-Driving Beta program for "about two weeks" if they did not allow vehicles to detect negligence.

"The suspension of Full Self-Driving (Beta) for maximum safety and accountability, the use of Full Self-Driving (Beta) will be suspended if improper use is detected," the note reads.

The purpose of improper use is when you, or other drivers receive five 'Autopilot Force Releases', or when the Autopilot system stops working after the driver receives multiple audio and visual warnings for lack of attention.

"Keep your hands on the wheel and stay caring all the time. The use of any handheld device while using Autopilot is not allowed," explained the company further.

Previously, Tesla's sanctions only temporarily disabled Full Self-Driving and removed drivers from the Beta program. Users can report suspensions for up to six months before their vehicles reactivate their privileges.

Prior to Tesla's Beta program, Tesla punished drivers who used FSD incorrectly by pulling their vehicles and disabling suites for the rest of the trip.

With these new sanctions, it appears that Tesla is trying to combat improper use of FSD. Not only improving driver safety, but also to help prevent damage to the narrative behind the development of semi-autonomous and fully autonomous driving.

Finally, the company states that owners who use Autopilot or Full Self-Driving must remain careful when using this feature.
