JAKARTA - Apple is again adding to its pencil accessories capabilities that can detect future colors and textures, according to patents filed by the company.
Current installments can be used by iPad users who want to draw or write on their tablets, and Apple's latest patent published in the US Patent & Trademark Office reveals how the brand-new feature can work better in the future.
Paten explained that the sensor Apple added to the tip of its pencil was able to detect not only any surface color it touched, but also its texture.
How it works, the iPad app can then replicate these characteristics to help artists convert real-world items into digital creations.
This is not the first time Apple has claimed patents related to color detection. But so far, since its launch in 2018, the pencil has not received any updates at all.
Keep in mind, Apple often patents all kinds of things, both software and hardware, just to make sure that the technology is not used by other companies, or competitors.
However, quoted from Pocket Lint. Thursday, January 5, not every patent filed by Apple can be a further feature. So, it can be expected that the new Pencil feature will launch in the near future.
