NASA Worried China Can Rampas Region On The Moon, Why?

JAKARTA - The competition between the United States (US) and China never ends, it continues to the Moon. NASA administrator Bill Nelson, warned it was very likely China would close the most resource-rich area on the lunar surface.

According to Nelson, that would have happened if they had built attendance there first compared to the US through NASA.

"That is a fact: we are in the space race. And it is true that we should be careful so they don't get somewhere on the moon under the guise of scientific research," Nelson said.

"And instead of beyond the possibility they will say, 'Get out, we are here, this is our territory'," he added.

Nelson's words followed recent reports from the US Department of Defense detailing the current state of China's space program, including its ability to develop spacecraft that can land on the far side of the Moon.

Moreover, China has also been able to compete with the International Space Station (ISS) by investigating its own space station, Tiangong.

There was also a 196-page report published in November last year, predicting China's President Xi Jinping's intentions as well as the potential for the second space race.

However, China has denied the United States' concerns and called them peaceful in space use and against violence.

Several US officials have spoken irresponsibly to describe China's normal and legitimate space efforts. China has always advocated the peaceful use of space, against weapons arsenal and arms race in space," a spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in Washington was quoted as saying by The Independent, Tuesday, January 3.

"(We) are working actively to build a community with a shared future for mankind in the realm of outer space," he added.

For information, NASA launched the Artemis I mission in November last year which took 26 days to orbit the Moon, seeking ways for future manned missions.
