JAKARTA - Non-Fungible Token (NFT) as one of the crypto ecosystems is predicted to take off or arguably increase, if the NFT has clear functions and uses in society.
Indodax, as one of the first local industry players and crypto exchanges in Indonesia, predicts that NFT will continue to develop both in terms of graphics.
"I think NFT first emerged as an intellectual property over graphics art. NFT continues to grow and now NFT is leading to intellectual property in the music field. NFT continues to develop better even in terms of graphics entering the metaverse,” explained Indodax CEO Oscar Darmawan in a statement received in Jakarta.
But according to him, if NFT is only seen and used as intellectual property, it will not be difficult enough to take off because it has not yet seen its real function.
But Oscar is quite optimistic that NFTs can take off in the future if viewed from the development of NFT, provided that the metaverse is NFT will play a major role.
"Or if NFT is a representative of something, for example NFT as a representative of a real asset where those who have NFT get profit sharing or NFT as a music representative can share the proceeds from the sale of the song. NFT will be good as long as its function and use is clear in society as what it is," he added.
On the other hand, when talking about crypto investors in 2023, Oscar said he was confident that it would increase, because of the large population of Indonesia.
"We have a demographic bonus that allows the number of customers in digital investment instruments to have a large number of customers. I hope that by 2023, the number of Indodax investors can reach 10 million members," he said.
