JAKARTA - Google added a new tab with the name "Highlights" to its Google Contact app, where the company now displays a list of contacts most frequently contacted.
Based on screenshots shared by Android Police, there is a difference between the two Google Contacts interfaces, where the latest display will present three tabs, namely Contacts, Highlights, and Files & manages.
In the Highlights tab which is in the middle between the two existing tabs, you will later see several new menu bars such as Favorites and Recents which include the Viewed Recently and Added Recently menus.
With this Favorites feature, you can add some of the contacts you contact the most, so you don't have to look for these contacts among the hundreds or thousands of other contacts.
In the Viewed Recently tab, each contact will be accompanied by a display date, and the overflow menu will allow you to delete that history. While the Added Recently tab is the most useful part to find out the contact you just added.
Google rolled out the Highlights tab to Google Contacts for everyone who installed the latest app. You can go to the Play Store and update Contacts to version 3.82.22 and new tabs will appear soon for you.
Unfortunately, based on VOI's monitoring, the new Highlights tab on Google Contacts is not yet fully available globally. However, given how useful this fast access feature is, the new tab is likely to find multiple users.
