JAKARTA - Alphabet has reportedly issued a red code because the work of OpenAI chatbot, ChatGPT, is claimed to trigger concerns over the future of Google's search engine, Search.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai appears to be preparing Google to deal with the threat. According to internal memos seen by NYTimes, Pichai and its parent company, Alphabet, have participated in several meetings around Google's AI strategy and directed many groups in the company.

This is to refocus their efforts in overcoming the threat posed by ChatGPT to its search engine business

In particular, a team in Google's research, trust and security division, among other departments, has shifted their work to assist the development and launch of prototypes and AI products.

Some employees are tasked with building AI products that produce art and graphics, similar to DALL-E OpenAI, which is used by millions of people.

However, it is not known for sure whether Google's core product, Search, will be replaced by an AI system that can provide more accurate research results.

The report also shows Google will make a series of AI announcements in May next year to meet the growing threat to the search giant's business model.

Google has dominated the search market for 20 years, and generated about 90 percent of Alphabet's profits, then anything that threatens that very profitable business is something Pichai might fear.

Previously, Pichai said he was reluctant to overtake ChatGPT because he did not yet have the appropriate technology to show to users.

For information quoted from Business Insider, Monday, December 26, ChatGPT has amassed more than 1 million users five days after its public launch last November. This tool can generate a single answer to questions in a humane way of gathering information from millions of websites.

Many users have asked chatbots to write college essays, provide coding advice, and even serve as therapists.
