JAKARTA The Russian social media giant VKont Ketaktikat is rumored to have been integrated with crypto wallets. This allows platform users to link their accounts to private crypto storage sites.

Not only crypto, it also allows users to access blockchain-based, Non-Fungible Token (NFT) digital art. That way, VKontakt can present NFT services including uploading a user's NFT collection to the platform.

In addition, account holders at VKontakt will also be able to buy and sell them in the future as the company is willing to immediately build an NFT marketplace. According to local news reports, the platform has also introduced NFT services along with educational courses on NFT.

VKontaktak CEO Marina Krasnova and CTO Alexander Tobol recently announced a new feature that will be available to users of its platform in the near future. The social media presents the NFT VK option, where NFT owners can transfer their digital collection to a VKontakterikat private account.

Furthermore, social media users will be able to display NFTs in the form of avatars or in special storefronts on profiles. To display digital collections, users must first link their accounts to crypto wallets.

Users can show this token in the form of an avatar or in a special storefront on the profile. However, to do that, they need to link their crypto wallet to their account. "Our job is to simplify user interactions with NFT and make it truly mass technology," Krasnova commented.

This is the first step social media that has more than 300 million users. Furthermore, the VKontact also plans to launch the NFT marketplace in January 2023. The next stage, they also plan to launch a complete NFT marketplace to offer users the opportunity to buy and resell collectibles.

According to a Coinpeaker report, VKontakit plans to integrate NFT technology into several other products including games and gifts. The social media platform added that it wanted to create an NFT hub featuring announcements, news, market analysis, and case studies. VKontakt said that its team would use this space to communicate ideas with the NFT community and look for potential partners.

On the other hand, the Russian government is also open to digital assets including NFT. They have collaborated with related parties to expand the legal framework there. This is aimed at regulating the NFT space, as is being discussed by the Russian Ministry of Economics. Even Russia's leading bank, Sberbank, has allowed its clients to print NFT (mining) on the bank's blockchain platform.

Apart from VKontakit, a number of social media have also integrated NFTs to its platform. Twitter allows users to display NFTs in profile photos in the form of hexagons. While Instagram displays NFTs in posts with NFT labels. Efforts made by VKontakits are greater than those implemented by Twitter and Instagram.
