JAKARTA - Google Photos is reportedly testing a new Search button for its Android app, with this users can view photos and recognize someone's face. The company is likely to change the Lens button in the Photos app.

Currently, to get more information about a particular subject in the photo, users are required to tap the Lens icon on Google Photos. But according to a recent Android Police report, the Google Photos app has stopped displaying the Lens button and was replaced by the Search button.

If using this search button on the image with the face, the user can highlight the face on the image and find an image with a face highlighted in their image gallery.

This feature can be very useful because it will help users browse memory paths with related images. The new feature is being rolled out to specific users, and is expected to roll out more widely in the coming months.

Launching 9to5Google, Thursday, December 8, unfortunately, this is not a new function that is present in Google Photos, users can already tap on the three-dot menu available in the top right corner of the photo and search for more images with the same person or face in it.

Google launched Lens in 2017 as a special app but later converted into an integrated service.

For ordinary users, image search buttons can be very useful, but if they use Google Lens enough, they may have to make a little adjustment.
