Waze Now Haves A Convex Car Application For The First Time

JAKARTA - Google has announced Waze, a popular navigation app for iPhone and Android, is now available in several cars without the need for mobile phones. This is the first time Waze is available as a standalone app in the car, thanks to Google's Android Automotive OS embedded.

Previously, if you wanted to use Waze, users had to use a connected phone via CarPlay or Android Auto. Google says that some people can't just log into their car's infotainment system and turn it on directly.

But now, drivers can access Waze for remittance, navigation, and more in real-time in their cars, without the need to connect smartphones.

But unfortunately, this Waze is only available to drivers of Renault Austral Hybrid and Renault Megane E-Tech's new European electric vehicles. For other vehicles to come next year.

The openR Renault multimedia system will now include a dedicated Waze app, and the system is also integrated with Google services such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play to allow users to choose music or change car temperature with their voice, plan routes, and even control smart home devices from cars.

Launching The Verge, Wednesday, December 7, Renault was the first car manufacturer to offer Waze live on a multimedia screen without the need for smartphones, but certainly not the last.

Polestar, General Motors, Chevrolet, and Volvo all offer similar Google integrations thanks to Android Automotive OS, with Honda also starting to use a embedded Android system.

Waze has been increasingly focused on in-car upgrades in recent years, with CarPlay's deeper integration, support for Apple Music and even nostalgiaal 70s, 80s, and 90s emerging earlier this year.
