JAKARTA - In early November, Twitter reportedly delayed the launch of the account verification feature or blue tick on the Blue subscription service for iOS users due to negative reactions from the public.

But now, Twitter appears to have charged USD 8 (IDR 125 thousand) per month to Twitter Blue users in the United States who gave them access to instant account verification and a blue tick on their profile.

At the writing of this article, according to the Engadget report, subscriptions are currently not available on Android, and it's not yet clear when this subscription will be extended to the market where other Twitter Blue services are available.

At the time, Musk announced some privileges when you are part of the subscription, namely the ability not to see as many ads as usual, and posting videos longer.

He said a paid Twitter Blue subscription account with a blue tick would be more important and prominent, as Twitter users will focus on posts from verified users and ignore other low-quality content. According to him, paid services will also prevent spammers, who don't want to pay for their accounts.

In addition, it seems that the account verification process is still unclear. On November 9 yesterday, Twitter plans to launch another type of checkmark to help differentiate accounts that users really need to know.

Although users can pay for the blue tick in the new version of Twitter Blue, certain accounts for the government, companies, or community leaders will still get a "Official check in gray.

But, not a day after the 'Official' label was officially launched, Musk stated that he would "kill" a new official label for his Twitter account. This policy is known from a thread shared by Esther Crawford from Twitter, which was recently appointed to head the Blue Twitter Initiative.
