Microsoft Trials Special Features For Handling Devices

JAKARTA - Microsoft is reportedly working on a feature devoted to touch devices such as tablets. Nicknamed the Touch feature, this mode will work for the company browser, Edge.

This new Touch Mode aims to make the browser more optimized for touch devices like Microsoft Surface Pro. The company has entered a new option into a browser that allows UIs to be dedicated to touch devices.

This is the first time a special UI has been designed to work on touch devices. Edge users have been asking for increased touchscreen support since Edge Legacy's disappearance.

When the user activates Touch mode, all browser elements look a little big. According to the feature description, the size of the browser element is like a button and the tab adds when the user turns it on.

If users use Edge on a convertible PC, they can select the Auto option from the Touch drop-down menu. And it will make Edge recognize whether the user is using Windows with touch or not and offers the appropriate layout.

Currently, Microsoft is testing the Touch feature on the Edge Canary channel. This means that this feature can only be launched for certain users at this time.

If you're one of the lucky ones, you can make Edge more optimized for touch by opening Settings click Appearance select Touch.
