With Chat, later authors or content creators can set topics and notes for each discussion, they can also enable or disable this feature at any time.

All writers, podcasters and video creators can enable this Chat feature on iOS for a while. Chats will launch for future Android and web users.
"Activating Chats will expand the relationships that have been developed by writers and content creators with customers on Substack. Authors can hold Chat conversations for all their customers, or only those who pay," the company explained.
The company describes the reasons behind the creation of this Chat feature. First, the company considers that the writing on Substack is now developing, and the comments section is filled with smart discussions, and the customer community is starting to form.
Therefore, some authors even take their own steps to be able to connect directly with their readers through the Discord group, Slack, and also Telegram.
Therefore, Substack finally launched Chat to make it easier for writers to have more frequent conversations with people who value their work the most.
