JAKARTA - Member of Commission I of the DPR RI, Nurul Arifin, emphasized that the Ministry of Communications and Informatics must be able to distribute free Set Top Boxes (STB) to people in need in a targeted manner.
This was conveyed by Nurul, following the termination of analog television broadcasts (Analog Switch Off/ASO) and the migration to digital broadcasting on November 2, 2022, in the Greater Jakarta area.
This broadcast migration to digital TV will cover areas where the digital broadcast ecosystem is ready, including 14 Regencies/Cities in Jabodetabek.
The government has also distributed free STB assistance to Poor Households (RTM) nationally around 1,055,360 units of STB.
The Jabodetabek area has distributed 473,308 STB units from the target of 479,307 STB units. Indeed, there were 60,791 RTMs that did not meet the criteria or failed to deliver.
“The most important thing in this ASO is that the government through the Ministry of Communication and Information must be able to distribute STB to people who need it on target.
