JAKARTA Elon Musk, said on Wednesday 26 October that he entered Inc's Twitter office in San Francisco, days before a court-ordered deadline to close a $44 billion acquisition deal for social media platforms.

"Entering Twitter HQ! Let it absorb!" said the caption of Musk's tweeted video where he walked into Twitter's office while carrying a sink in his hand.

Hours earlier, he hinted at becoming the top boss of the social media company after updating his profile bio to "Chief Twit".

Twitter also confirmed Musk would visit San Francisco's office this week, but declined to comment further on the visit.

The Wall Street Journal reported, citing several sources, that the bank had started sending $13 billion in cash to support Musk's takeover of Twitter as a sign that the deal would be closing soon this weekend.

Once the final closure condition is met, the funds will be available for Musk to make a transaction on Friday, October 28 plus the report.

Morgan Stanley, Barclays and Bank of America did not respond to requests for comment on the WSJ report.

In the dramatic six months back and forth since Musk announced an offer of $54.20 per share, Twitter initially rejected the deal by adopting poison pills and then suing the world's richest man after he announced plans to cancel the offer out of concern about a spam account.

Earlier this month, Musk proposed to continue his initial offer worth $44 billion and called for an end to the lawsuit by Twitter.

The Tesla Inc CEO told joint investors committed to helping fund Twitter's deal that he plans to close it on Friday, October 28.

Equity investors including Sequoia Capital, Binance, Qatar Investment Authority and others have received the necessary documents for financing commitments from Musk's lawyers.

Twitter shares rose about 1.1% to USD 53.91 per share in extended trading, slightly below Musk's offering price.
