JAKARTA - Siemens, a technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, mobility and healthcare, signed a deal with Automotive Cells Company (ACC) on Thursday, October 13.

ACC is a joint venture founded by Stellantis, Mercedes Benz, and TotalEnergies. Under the agreement, Siemens will be the supplier of ACC's choice in automation, digitization and electrification technologies, enabling ACC to increase its production, maximizing its generating and energy efficiency.

That way, Siemens will supply Digital Enterprise hardware and software, which includes production design, product life cycle management to the ACC's energy management system.

The company says it plans to create comprehensive digital twin technology from batteries and production lines. By leveraging the Integrated Automation and Teamcenter software from Siemens Xcelerator, the ACC will be able to better connect design and manufacturing to improve production.

"The emergence of the European equipment industry is a key factor in success for ACC, which has ambitions to become the leader of automotive batteries in Europe. We must facilitate the formation of the entire battery ecosystem, which covers the entire value chain," said Yann Vincent CEO of ACC in a press release on the Siemens website.

According to Vincent, from this perspective, relying on Siemens is very important for ACC. "Throughout the project, Siemens Xcelerator offers a series of perfect solutions for our needs," he added.

Siemens said the partnership is part of the open digital business platform Siemens Xcelerator, which was launched last June, where Siemens created IoT-capable hardware and software that aims to accelerate digital transformation.

The partnership will ease and accelerate ACC's progress towards planned large-scale gigafactory, where ACC previously planned to build triple gigafactory.
