JAKARTA - Facebook continues to develop its business wing. Most recently the social media company has acquired a customer service startup, called Kustomer.

The social media network, based in Menlo Park, United States (US), stated that the acquisition was made because Facebook wanted to add tools to attract more sellers to the platform.

The Customer allows businesses to combine customer conversations from multiple channels into one screen. Then also automate some responses to prospective buyers.

It is known, the Customer's platform has also been integrated with services on Facebook Messenger and Instagram. The agreement that occurs will also allow Facebook to improve its WhatsApp Business service.

Where they think there will be more customers who will use instant messaging applications to transact and answer questions. Unfortunately, the details of the startup purchase were not disclosed in detail.

However, The Wall Street Journal said the acquisition value was US $ 1 billion. If so, Facebook is looking to push its e-commerce platform to help generate new ad revenue.

Earlier this year, Facebook launched Shops, a service that allows businesses to display and sell products across the Facebook platform. This feature has also been launched for Indonesian Instagram users.
