Winning For Auction Frequency 2.1 GHz, Telkomsel Successfully Shifted XL Axiata

JAKARTA - The results of the 2.1 GHz frequency auction have just been announced by the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) which was won by Telkomsel.

Telkomsel itself managed to shift the position of telecommunication operator XL Axiata in the price offer which was held from 03 to 05 October 2022.

"Telkomsel appreciates and is grateful that it has been announced as the first rank in the process of Selection of Band Users Frequency 2.1 GHz which was held by the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information," said Telkomsel Vice President of Corporate Communications, Saki Hamsat Bramono in a statement received by VOI, Thursday, October 6.

"We will continue to follow the next stage of the selection, until later the winner is officially determined by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia," he added.

Citing an official statement from the Ministry of Communication and Information, Telkomsel annexed the frequency band range of 2.1 GHz, with a price offer of Rp605,056,000,000, while XL Axiata proposed Rp540,000,000,000.

"According to the provisions in the selection document, the Radio Frequency Band User Selection Object 2.1 GHz for the Needs for the Implementation of the Cellular Mobile Network in 2022, consisting of 1 (one) 5 MHz FDD radio frequency band block (2 x 5 MHz) in the 1975-1980 MHz range paired with 2165-2170 MHz with national service area coverage," said the Ministry of Communication and Information.

However, if there are parties who want to submit a rebuttal, the Ministry of Communication and Information will give time until Friday, October 07, 2022 at 15.00 WIB after the announcement of the results of this selection.

" Selection Participants can submit rebuttals in writing within a period of 1 (one) working day after the day of the announcement of the Selection results, accompanied by evidence that strengthens the rebuttal," explained the Ministry of Communication and Information.

If the participants do not have a rebuttal, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics said, the selection process will be continued with the Submission of the Proposal for Determination of Radio Frequency Band User Selection 2.1 GHz for the purpose of the Implementation of the Cellular Mobile Network in 2022 to the Minister of Communications and Informatics, Johnny G. Plate.
