Charles Hoskinson: Cardano Will Enter The Voltaire Era

JAKARTA The Cardano (ADA) cryptocurrency, which ranks eighth largest by market capitalization, is reported to be entering the Voltaire era. Currently the Cardano blockchain is in the Basho phase which is the optimizing stage, increasing scalability and network.

Based on its official website, Cardano has five phases in its roadmap which includes the eras of mediate, mediate, Goguen, Basho, and Voltaire. The three phases have been passed and now Cardano is in the Basho era before entering the Voltaire era.

For information, the Basho Cardano Era is a era of optimization, increasing network scalability and interoperability. If previous development era focused on new decentralization and functionality, Basho is about improving performance underlying Cardano networks to support better growth and adoption for apps with high transaction volumes.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently announced that Cardano's blockchain will soon enter the Voltaire era aimed at developing decentralized governance or governance in its ecosystem.

Getting to Know the Cardano Voltaire Era

Based on an official statement from the Cardano roadmap page, the Voltaire era will provide the final necessary section so that the Cardano network becomes an independent system. With the introduction of voting systems and treasury, network participants will be able to exercise their ownership rights and voting rights to influence future network development.

At the time, blockchain users will have more votes in the direction of the network as they can submit a Cardano upgrade proposal. Treasury will also be available to fund any CIP (Cardano Improvement Proposal) approved by the community. Part of the transaction fees will be collected for treasury.

According to the Cardano page, Voltaire will mark the end of IOHK's management of Cardano and its early evolution into a "absolutely decentralized" blockchain network.

At the time of writing the price of the original Cardano coin, ADA, is trading at the level of Rp6,578. The price of ADA has increased by 1 percent in the last 24 hours. ADA had touched its all-time high price on September 2, 2021, at a price of Rp44,039 per coin.
