Indonesia Networks In Cooperation With Several Countries To Build Telecommunication Infrastructure

JAKARTA - The Government of the Republic of Indonesia has collaborated with France, Britain, the United States and Argentina. This collaboration is related to the development of telecommunications infrastructure, which is expected to strengthen global telecommunications network nodes.

With France and Britain, Indonesia has built its infrastructure in the form of cooperation in the procurement and placement of satellites. With the United States, we already have cooperation in rocket launchers to bring satellites into satellite orbit," said Minister of Communications and Informatics, Johnny G. Plate in a press release from the Ministry of Communication and Information, quoted Monday, September 26.

Johnny added, apart from France and Britain, Indonesia must also build new relations with other European Unions. This cooperation will also take place at various levels.

The Minister of Communication and Information even stated that the Government of Indonesia had discussions with the Government of Argentina during the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) regarding several data transmission routes to the United States and from the United States to Indonesia.

We discussed building a new route, namely the Southern Line that connects networks from Australia to Argentina, which is connected to networks in Latin America to the United States. So we will have several data transmission routes to the United States and from the United States to Indonesia," he explained.

Furthermore, Johnny hopes that the connectivity of the optical cable which is currently being built domestically will connect Indonesia's route to Singapore via the Middle East to Europe.

We in Indonesia are also connecting fiber optic points. Hopefully, when the network is well connected, fiber optic utilization will increase. This is part of the Digital Economy in the upstream ICT Infrastructure field," he said.
