How To Use Google Maps New Features That Help Users Save Fuel

YOGYAKARTA Not much is known, Google Maps' new feature is actually possible for users to save fuel consumption (BBM) on vehicles. This means that when G-Maps users use this feature they not only save fuel, but save financial expenses to be more environmentally friendly.

The navigation map feature of Goggle's is called Fuel-Saving. The function of this feature is to provide information on the fastest route as well as a route that has higher fuel efficiency. This service will greatly help owners of fuel-intensive vehicles to be more efficient so that the use of fuel is more optimal.

Google itself launched its new features on their digital map app in September 2022. Currently, this feature can be enjoyed in nearly 40 European countries, including France, Ireland, Poland, Spain, and the UK. This feature was also launched in Germany last month.

This feature continues to get improvement so that users can choose what type of fuel the user's car is. Google is also able to find routes that can reduce fuel consumption and accurately estimate how much fuel the user has saved.

For example, you have a diesel-powered car. This new feature will direct motorists to the toll road so that users can speed up but remain efficient.

The collected data is then combined with the Google Maps driving trend and then put into the algorithm to find out which route is the most efficient.

To use this feature, G-Maps users can enter their profile page in the application. Click Settings then Navigation Settings, then scroll down to the Route Options section. After that "Select a fuel-saving route" to enable or disable fuel-saving routes.

This gasoline-friendly feature will also provide information to low-emission zone operators who prohibit some vehicles from entering because they have a predetermined emission rate.

This new service can be enjoyed through both Android and iOS operating systems that have updated their Google Maps service.

For now, new features of Google Maps are only available in certain countries. It is very likely that Google will also release this feature in Asian countries, including Indonesia. However, this time has not been confirmed.
