JAKARTA - A hoverbike that Japanese manufacturers plan to launch in the United States next year. This Hoverbike has already debuted at the Detroit Auto Show on Thursday, September 15. They even describe an unavoidable comparison with the "Star Wars" speeder.

This Hoverbike, named XTURISMO, was created by Japanese startup AERWINS Technologies and can fly for 40 minutes, and reaches speeds of up to 62 miles per hour (100 kph).

"I feel like I'm really 15 years old and I just got out of 'Star Wars' and jumped on their bike," said target Szott, co-chair of the car show after a test drive - or, perhaps, a floating test.

"I mean, this is amazing! Of course, you have a bit of concern, but I'm really excited. I'm really goosebumps and feel like a kid," he was quoted as saying by Reuters.

Hoverbike are already on sale in Japan, and Shuhei Komatsu, founder and CEO of AERWINS, said their plans to sell smaller versions of the United States by 2023.

For a Hoverbike XTURISMO it will reach $77,000, although Komatsu says the company expects to lower costs of US$50,000 (Rp 745 million) for smaller electric models by 2025.

Earlier this month, AERWINS announced it was looking for ways to register on the exchange on NASDAQ through a merger with a special acquisition company worth US$600 million (IDR 8.9 trillion).
