JAKARTA - Mark Zuckerberg announced on Tuesday, September 13 that Meta will begin testing people's ability to start Community Chat in Messenger in the coming weeks.

Community Chat will allow people to create Facebook Groups, start chats and audio channels, and invite others to join their new group all in the app.

"We are building Community Chat as a new way to connect with people who share the same interests as you," Mark said in his Facebook post.

According to him, there are more than 1 billion people using Messenger to communicate with friends. "And you will soon be able to start Community Chat from Messenger and Facebook Groups," he added.

This Community Chat will bring people deeper into the community in real time about topics they are interested in in in a variety of formats, including text, audio, and video.

This experience combines Messenger and Facebook Groups seamlessly to allow people to connect when, where, and in the way they want.

Given that this Community Chat is public, Meta has prepared several tools that include the ability to block, disable or suspend group members, and remove members or messages.

There is also Admin Assistance, which allows admins to set specific criteria that will automatically suspend users, delete reported messages, and stop messages from authors who do not meet the requirements or contain violating content from those sent.

In its blog, Meta says that it will also expand Community Chat to more Facebook Groups.
