JAKARTA - Instagram is testing a new setting for users to control what type of content they see on the platform.

In a blog post, Meta says its testing includes the ability to select multiple posts and tag them using a "not interested" button, which should mark the app that users don't want to see similar content.

Currently, users can click on a single post to mark it, but there's no way to do it on a large scale.

Instagram will also soon begin testing ways for users to list keywords, phrases, emojis, and hashtags in recommended posts that they are not interested in and don't want them to see.

TikTok launched a similar keyword-based feature in June. This feature has given users the ability to don't like videos to direct their algorithms in a direction they would rather see.

New controls on Instagram emerged shortly after users "contracted" over the changes piled up on the platform.
