JAKARTA - Apple is expected to make the price of the upcoming iPhone 14 much more expensive than the iPhone 13. This was reported by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He believes the combined average selling price (ASP) of the iPhone 14 lineup can increase by 15 percent when compared to the iPhone 13 lineup.

For reference, the standard iPhone 13 model starts at $799 (with carrier discounts), while the Pro and Pro Max models raise prices to $999 and $1,099, respectively.

While Kuo didn't mention price predictions for individual devices, he thinks the ASP of the iPhone 14 lineup (including the Pro model) could range from $1,000 to $1,050. Kuo called the ASP upgrades on the iPhone Pro and Pro Max a potentially more expensive one, as well as a "higher shipping proportion."

In June, Wedbush Securities analyst Dave Ives told The Sun that he expects the iPhone 14 to cost $100 more than the iPhone 13 due to rising prices affecting global supply chains. Meanwhile, rumors from Korean leaker Lanzuk suggest that Apple will only increase the price of the Pro model, not the base iPhone 14.

While the base iPhone 14 is expected to come with an upgraded 48-megapixel rear camera and an autofocus selfie camera, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models are rumored to be getting most of the upgrades.

But the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max versions might ditch the notch that houses the front camera in favor of a pill-shaped punch hole, are equipped with the new A16 chip, and support an always-on display.
