JAKARTA - TikTok users must be familiar with the Duet feature. With this feature, we can collaborate with other TikTok users. So, later it will display two videos at once in one frame.

This duet doesn't happen in real-time, instead it starts with the original video, which you can then follow up on or respond to by other users. You can only duet with TikTokers who allow it in their preferences.

Users can choose to turn off the Duet feature if they want to maintain the authenticity of their messages, or they may only allow duets with followers they follow back.

How to Duet on TikTok

The most important first step is that you have to find the video you want to collaborate with first. Then, make sure that the creator of the video is open to Duet.

Once you find the video you want to create a TikTok Duet for, follow these steps:

Tap the Share button at the bottom right of the screen. It was shaped like a curved arrow. In the popup window, select the Duet button. As long as it's not grayed out, you're doing a Duet (sometimes it might be grayed out and it still works, so always tap if you want to be sure). The following screen shows the original video next to the video from your camera. How to add your video to TikTok Duet:

First, select your layout with the Layout button in the right menu. Once you've selected a layout, press the Back button or tap from the layout options, depending on your phone model.

Tap the red Record button to start recording. Once done, you can add filters and effects. When you're done, tap V. Next, you can add voiceovers, text, stickers, and even more effects. Tap Next again. On the last screen, you can set captions, hashtags, and posts. This will automatically include the handle of the person you created the Duet with.
