JAKARTA – The popular NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) has successfully launched its t-shirt product. It is a collaboration between BAYC and Old Navy.

The Bored Ape Yacht Club shirt itself is available on the official Old Navy website. The gray T-shirt has the NFT BAYC design number #7285. The NFT BAYC T-shirt is priced at 18.99 US dollars (approximately IDR 285 thousand) at oldnavy.gap.com. Both parties have partnered to produce the t-shirt.

Based on recent reports, what's interesting is that at first glance, it looks like BAYC #7285 doesn't belong to Old Navy at all. Instead, the owner, as The Bored Ape Gazette discovered, appears to be Twitter user @dora_and_dolly.

Typically, licensing rights are reserved for individual NFT owners on the blockchain. So, in this case @dora_and_dolly might potentially get compensation from selling the t-shirt. However, it is not yet known whether the Old Navy and the owner of the NFT have made a special agreement or not.

For your information, Old Navy is an American clothing retailer that Gap has owned since 1993. It was founded in 1994 and has since built 1,106 locations, and as of 2019, the company had revenues of US$4 billion.

Old Navy's largest stores are located in a number of US cities, including New York, Seattle, Chicago, San Francisco, Mexico City, and others. The clothing company also has a branch store located in Manila.

Although it has branches outside the US, most of its stores are located in the United States and North America.

The fashion magazine GQ, founded in 1931, also commented on the collaboration between Old Navy and BAYC. According to him, the collaboration between the two is the first in US fashion, as reported by NFT Evening.

Meanwhile, Hypebeast predicts that in the future there will be more works featuring a different NFT Bored Ape, then 11 Mutant Apes, one CryptoPunk, and 6 NFT CloneX which are the result of collaboration with virtual shoemaker RTFKT.
