JAKARTA - Nintendo has acquired CG animation studio Dynamo Pictures. In addition, the game company purchased 100% of Dynamo Pictures and changed its name to Nintendo Pictures Co., Ltd.

In a letter notifying Nintendo's acquisition of Dynamo Pictures, the company said it had a goal of developing visual content using the Nintendo IP, and the deal was expected to close on October 3.

This deal shows that Nintendo is serious about expanding its entertainment business including making CG animation.

Previously, the company had also teamed up with studio Illumination Universal to release an animated film in April 2023 based on the Super Mario Bros. franchise.
