“In this quest for absolute flatness, we had to offer a watch that, far from being a 'concept watch', but rather has the task of keeping up with the everyday life of the wearer,” adds Richard Mille.
According to the brand, the watch took more than 6,000 hours to develop and test.
Richard Mille chose grade 5 titanium for the base plate and bridge ties, an alloy that is highly resistant to corrosion.
"The alloy is 90 percent titanium grade 5, six percent aluminum and four percent vanadium," he said. “This combination further improves the mechanical properties of the material, which explains its frequent use in the aerospace, aeronautical and automotive industries.”
The base plate is in a rounded rectangular box, with the time indication located in the center of the top. The watch is manually rotated, and has a power reserve of about 45 hours.
Function options are integrated into the bezel between 10 and 11 o'clock, and allow the user to select either the scroll function or the hand setting.
