JAKARTA - Sino-Swedish automotive brand Polestar has finally added Apple CarPlay to its sedan product, the Polestar 2 all-electric through an over-the-air software update.

In early June, the company first revealed that Apple CarPlay would be coming to the Polestar 2 as part of an OTA update later this month.

"We are also pleased to announce that the next generation of CarPlay is coming to Polestar cars in the future," Polestar wrote in a tweet, on June 7.

Then on Thursday, June 22, Polestar finally launched it. Launching from TechCrunch, Polestar is the first company to offer Google's Android Automotive operating system.

Open source software that runs on Linux and is used to control everything from radio and vehicle settings to navigation and climate control.

The arrival of Apple CarPlay was followed by an over-the-air update to Polestar 2. Polestar owners with iPhones can now change music, use apps, and communicate via Siri or the infotainment system.
