JAKARTA - Apple has just released iOS 15.5 to the public. Unfortunately, this update doesn't bring any significant changes, only improving the Apple Cash and Podcasts apps.

According to Apple's official release, the new iOS 15.5 feature includes a pair of buttons added to the Wallet app, through which Apple Cash card users can request or send money quickly.

There's also a new setting in the Apple Podcasts app, where users can limit the number of episodes stored on their phones.

In addition, various bug fixes arrived for HomeKit, these are useful when users need to improve the reliability of home automation triggered by people coming and going.

"Wallet now allows Apple Cash subscribers to send and request money from their Apple Cash card. Apple Podcasts includes a new setting to limit episodes stored on your iPhone and automatically delete older ones. Fixed an issue where home automation, triggered by people that comes or goes, may fail," Apple said.

Furthermore, there are a few other changes in iOS 15.5 that 9to5Mac managed to find that weren't mentioned in Apple's release notes, such as a wallet update and a handy new HomePod feature.

Then this new version of iOS also includes support for apps with external purchases, and hints at the presence of Bancomat and Bancontact on Apple Pay.

Apple will also rebrand iTunes Pass in the Wallet app with iOS 15.5, with iOS 15.5 beta reportedly also blocking Location Sensitive for Memories in the Photos app.

To update the device with iOS 15.5, the user can open the Settings app, then click General select Software Update.

Along with this update, Apple has also released an update for macOS Monterey 12.4, which is a fix for the poor quality of the Apple Studio Display monitor webcam. This is quoted from The Verge, Tuesday, May 17.
