Madonna Launches Nude NFT Titled “Mother Of Creation”

JAKARTA – The boom of the NFT (non-fungible token) has attracted the interest of top US celebrities. One of them is Madonna. The pop icon is rumored to be launching his own NFT series on Monday, 8 May. Interestingly, Madonna collaborated with Beeple for the launch of NFT's “Mother of Creation.”

Madonna's NFT is scheduled to be auctioned on Wednesday, May 11, 2021. NFT “Mother of Creation” features three different digital artworks namely “Mother of Nature”, “Mother of Evolution” and “Mother of Technology.”

The NFT presents a naked 3D version of Madonna that gives birth to flora, fauna, and technology, as reported by DailyCoin.

“I did what women have been doing since the beginning, which was giving birth. But on a more existential level, I gave birth to art and creativity. And we'd be lost without both of them," Madonna said.

Through three series of NFT "Mother of Creation", for the first time the pop icon plunged into the virtual world. In this work he collaborated with the famous NFT artist Mike Winkelmann or better known as Beeple. Winkelmann himself managed to sell his NFT entitled “Everydays: the First 5000 Days” for US$65 million or equivalent to Rp943.3 billion at a leading auctioneer, Christie's.

“I don't do a lot of collaborations. It's probably the only thing I'll be doing for a very long time," Beeple told the New York Times.

In his Twitter tweet, Beeple said he was honored to be invited to collaborate with Madonna. After its launch, Madonna's NFT will be auctioned on the NFT marketplace, SuperRare, on 11 May. From the proceeds of the sale, Madonna will donate all income to three NGOs that support mothers in the world.
